Compensation: $20.00 Hourly We are USIC, America’s leader in underground utility damage prevention and advanced infrastructure services. Our Advanced Gas Operations (AGO) division provides dedicated service to our gas customers across the country, performing more than 84 million locates each year for over 1,400 utilities and municipalities. We are looking for motivated outdoor enthusiasts to join our team as Locators. No prior locating experience is required; previous industry experience is a plus. Your Responsibilities as a Locator Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in designated areas and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure. Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure. Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines. May locate other utilities in addition to gas lines, depending on assigned projects. These are daytime, full‑time positions. We have a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates, which means you may work the day after holidays and some weekends as needed. Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call shifts (including nights and weekends), depending on business needs. Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed. Ability to travel locally; out‑of‑area or overnight travel may be expected. Pass a drug screen (this is a safety‑sensitive position). Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Stand and walk for long periods on varying terrain; bend, stoop, and lift up to 75 lbs. Distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities. Computer proficiency. Read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints; possess basic math skills to calculate distances.
