Job Description

An educational opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education teacher to support elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting. This full-time contract position involves working with two distinct groups: one serving kindergarten through first grade and the other supporting second through fourth grade learners. Both classrooms benefit from paraprofessional assistance to create an effective, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs within Grades K-1 and Grades 2-4 classrooms.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to support student engagement and academic progress.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings and maintain accurate student records.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Experience working with elementary-age students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational staff.

Location:This position is based in Westland, Michigan, serving an elementary school environment.
