Tri-State Bobcat is a premier provider of compact equipment solutions, dedicated to supporting construction, landscaping, and agricultural industries. As we continue to grow, we're seeking a driven and detail-oriented Controller to lead our administrative and financial operations.

The Controller plays a key leadership role in overseeing the company's administrative departments, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Payroll, Human Resources (HR), and Reception. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient internal processes, and the integrity of financial operations across the organization.

This role is based at our Burnsville location. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The salary ranges from $110,000 to $150,000, depending on qualifications, and includes excellent benefits.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and support basic accounting procedures including A/P, A/R, time billing, payroll, general ledger (G/L), tax payments, and inventory control.
  • Prepare and deliver timely financial statements, including monthly and quarterly financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly operational analysis to provide insights into business performance and cost controls.
  • Produce financial data and customized reports for the management team as needed.
  • Lead month-end and annual close processes.
  • Communicate directly with customers to resolve issues and support with collection of past-due invoices.
  • Direct and support the teams responsible for A/P, A/R, Collections, Payroll, HR, and front office/reception.
  • Improve and document accounting and administrative processes to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing regular updates and variance analysis to management.
  • Ensure that all active projects are supported by valid, binding contracts.
  • Assist the company's Accountant during annual financial and 401(k) reviews.
  • Serve as liaison with external auditors and ensure audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to finance, employment, benefits, and various state and local tax obligations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, payroll, HR practices, and financial controls.
  • Experience in equipment, dealership, or related industries is a plus.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with CDK/Intellidealer is a plus
