Salary: $60,400 annually (targeted, based on experience) Benefits: Provided Job Description The OU Marketing and Communications video team seeks a dynamic, hands‑on storyteller to serve as a videographer/editor in the creation of high‑impact video content to support an array of educational partnerships on all three campuses of the University of Oklahoma. This role leads all aspects of visual media creation, overseeing concept development, production, and delivery of high‑quality video and photography content. It combines creative vision with strong project management and technical expertise to craft compelling stories that elevate the brand, engage audiences, and support marketing, communications, and social media initiatives. Essential Duties Lead planning, production, and post‑production of all video and photo projects, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and university goals. Develop and execute creative concepts, storyboards, and shot lists for campaigns, social media, events, and internal communications. Shoot and capture video and photography in the field, including set‑up and breakdown of filming locations and equipment. Direct photo and video shoots, ensuring visual consistency and quality across deliverables. Supervise and mentor staff in a collaborative creative environment. Provide training on editing techniques and video equipment usage. Collaborate with the logistics coordinator to select and schedule proper locations and production needs. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with production partners. Oversee editing, color grading, motion graphics, and sound design processes. Ensure timely delivery of assignments while maintaining production standards. Implement efficient media management and archiving systems. Collaborate with internal and external departments to create content that supports campaigns and audience engagement. Stay current with visual trends, tools, and techniques to continuously improve production quality. Establish and track KPIs for production efficiency and content performance. Assist with equipment inventory and maintenance, procurement, upgrades, and lifecycle management. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Videography, Film Production, Photography, Media Arts, or related field, and 5 years of experience in video, photography, production, editorial or related field. Equivalency/Substitution Experience or a combination of education related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree. A one‑to‑one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree. Skills Comprehensive knowledge of video and photography production workflows. Understanding of storytelling principles, brand identity, and visual communication strategies. Knowledge of camera systems, lenses, lighting setups, and audio equipment, and current production technology and trends. Familiarity with digital asset management, metadata, and archival systems for photo and video content. Extensive knowledge of camera systems and related production equipment. Proficient in lighting design and audio recording techniques for video and photography. Strong editing skills using industry‑standard software such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines. Skilled in preparing reports, project documentation, and production schedules within established timelines. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Media Composer, or comparable post‑production software. Certifications None Advertised Physical Requirements Repetitive motions. Ability to move and lift heavy objects for prolonged periods, including broadcast camera equipment; manual dexterity. Travel and work on location. Works weekends and evenings as needed.
