About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Accounting and Controller to join their executive management team. The successful candidate will be the chief accountant, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, quarterly reports, and the maintenance of the general ledger. This role also involves managing the accounting and back office operations staff, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and serving as the primary liaison with regulators. The VP, Accounting and Controller will be responsible for providing the CEO and Board of Directors with relevant reports and data analysis to support decision-making and monitoring of the company's activities. Candidates for this position should have an accounting degree, at least 5 years' of related experience, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in or auditing financial institutions. A CPA is preferred, and management experience is also a plus. The role requires outstanding communication, presentation, and technology skills, and experience in mortgage banking accounting is beneficial. The VP, Accounting and Controller will be expected to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all member payments, underwrite loan applications, and manage key vendor relationships. The position is pivotal in maintaining the company's image and achieving its strategic goals and objectives.
