Tax Accountant

Leesburg, VA | Frederick, MD | In office a must, with a Hybrid Option Available

DeLeon & Stang is looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team and play a key role in tax preparation, planning, and client service.

What Youll Do:

• Prepare and review a variety of individual tax returns (1040s), including those with investment income, rental properties, multi-state tax, and estate/trust considerations.
• Meet with clients to support tax planning strategies for clients, offering solutions to optimize their tax situation.
• Participate in client meetings, building relationships with both existing clients and prospects.
• Learn from senior tax professionals and tax managers to further develop your technical expertise.
• Mentor and share knowledge with junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused team environment.
• Provide proactive communication with clients, addressing their tax-related concerns and planning needs.

What You Bring:

Minimum 2+ years of of tax preparation and planning experience at a regional CPA firm.
Strong desire to develop client relationships and provide valuable tax planning consulting.
CPA license preferred, or a strong commitment to pursuing the CPA exam.
Solid knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with a focus on both individual and business tax returns.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with senior professionals and junior staff.
Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
