Overview We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Senior Director of Engineering to lead the transformation of our supply connectivity APIs, with a primary focus on lodging and vacation rentals. This leader will drive the creation of a modern, scalable API surface that enables partners to onboard and distribute content, inventory, and pricing in real time. Beyond owning the connected partner strategy, this role will also shape the developer experience and define forward-looking solutions for the industry with the shift to AI based integrations. Responsibilities Engineering & Platform Leadership: Own the end-to-end engineering strategy and execution for the connectivity API platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and extensibility. AI Strategy: Define and lead the future of partner connectivity, including Agent-to-Agent workflows via MCP, and set the direction for industry adoption. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing engineering teams globally. Embed AI-driven productivity enhancements directly into team workflows. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, operations, and design teams to align priorities, shape roadmaps, and deliver measurable outcomes. Operational Excellence: Champion engineering best practices—including CI/CD, observability, and incident management—to ensure platform stability and performance. Innovation & Transformation: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging emerging technologies to reimagine both partner and developer experiences. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a technical manager in senior leadership roles managing leaders of leaders, with a background close to technology as an engineer preferred. Proven track record building and launching external, partner-facing API solutions. Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, API design, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development practices. Comfortable navigating complex, matrixed organizations with diverse stakeholders. Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Curiosity to the future; experience with utilizing agentic systems or AI tools to drive personal productivity. Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $296,000.00/yr - $414,500.00/yr. The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $296,000.00 to $414,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $473,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay will vary based on location, budget, and individual knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
