Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Nurse Extern, you will be a valued member of the nursing team, gaining hands-on experience while exploring the full scope of the Registered Nurse role. You will provide safe, compassionate care that significantly improves patients' lives while building the skills and confidence necessary for more advanced responsibilities as you progress in your nursing program.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Performing nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection as you advance your experience and competency.
• Documenting care accurately and effectively communicating updates to the nursing team to maintain seamless patient care.
• Guiding patients and families in understanding their care plans and offering support for health and recovery.
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety in patient areas by adhering to infection prevention practices.
• Participating in educational opportunities and collaborating with your supervisor or preceptor to develop a personalized career growth plan.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program in good standing at an accredited institution.
• NC (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
