Job Description

Job Overview:

Are you ready to shape the future of healthcare? At Laerdal Labs D.C., we're on a mission to help save lives through cutting-edge software solutions. Our SimCapture Cloud product is trusted by over 2000 top hospitals, medical schools, and nursing programs worldwide-so everything we build (and test!) makes a real difference. Now, we're looking for a detail-driven, tech-savvy Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our fun and fast-paced team!

At a Glance:

  • In this hybrid role, you'll be in the office twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and working from home the rest of the time. You'll collaborate closely with fellow QA Engineers and Software Developers to ensure our application is stable, user-friendly, and bug-free. From crafting thorough test plans to troubleshooting and validating audiovisual hardware and Windows drivers, you'll face new challenges daily-all while making a meaningful impact on healthcare education across the globe.
  • What You'll Do:
  • Test & Triumph: Validate software features, fixes, and performance through functional, smoke, end-to-end, and regression testing.
  • Bug Buster: Investigate and document software failures, then collaborate with developers to root out the culprit and track down solutions.
  • Hardware Hero: Install, troubleshoot, and test audiovisual equipment, cameras, servers, and drivers on Windows-ensuring our cutting-edge solutions perform flawlessly.
  • Escalation Expert: Assist teams like Development, Implementation, Sales, and Tech Support by digging into escalated issues, identifying workarounds, and documenting everything for smooth resolution.
  • Data Detective: Gather key info from log files, databases, and configuration files to fully understand and fix issues.
  • Innovation Influencer: Brainstorm improvements that enhance usability and stability. Share your input on features and fixes that make our applications shine.
  • QA Conductor: Collaborate with your fellow QA pros to refine our testing strategy, develop new test cases, and coordinate test rack management.

What We're Looking For:

  • Technical Chops: 2+ years of experience in QA, development, engineering, or product support. You're familiar with cloud-based applications (AWS, databases, browsers) and comfortable working in Windows.
  • Hardware Know-How: You can roll up your sleeves and set up AV equipment, cameras, servers-whatever it takes to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Testing Mastery: You know how to build detailed test plans, identify bugs, and ensure continuous quality through regression testing.
  • Agile Attitude: You thrive in a dynamic environment, love juggling multiple tasks, and keep a sharp eye on every detail.
  • Stellar Communication: You can clearly document issues, share solutions, and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eager Learner: A bachelor's degree in IT or engineering (or equivalent experience) means you have a solid foundation, and you're always ready to pick up new skills.
  • Bonus Points: Experience with JavaScript, Linux, or macOS is a plus-but not required!

Why Join Us?

  • Impactful Work: Every test you run helps make healthcare training better and saves lives.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work side by side with passionate teammates who value creativity, problem-solving, and a healthy dose of fun.
  • Professional Growth: Step into a role that offers endless opportunities to expand your QA toolkit and test new horizons in software quality assurance.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy a hybrid schedule that blends office camaraderie with the convenience of remote work.

Ready to team up and make a tangible difference in healthcare education? Apply now and become an essential part of our journey to empower medical professionals around the globe!
