Due to growth, they’ve created a new Psychiatrist position reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer — an opportunity to shape mental health services while working within an integrated, mission-driven care team. This role is involved with the newly created Addiction Recovery Care plan and offers professional growth as this role will involve developing future programs.

Job Summary
The Psychiatrist is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive interventions that promote functional improvement and minimize psychological and/or psychosocial barriers to the management of health problems. This role is also responsible for managing the pharmacotherapeutic treatment for psychiatric and behavioral disorders. The Psychiatrist works as part of the care team, which can include primary care providers, psychiatric consultants, case managers, patient navigators, nurses, and medical assistants. The psychiatrist will work with the primary care physicians in performing the assessments required by regulators, payor, and licensing bodies for the patients. The Psychiatrist will assist in identifying gaps and opportunities related to expanding services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs, using a combination of psychotherapy, medications, and other therapeutic approaches.
  • Work in combination with clinical partners in the care and treatment of patients with addiction and other mental health disorders.
  • Completes psychiatric assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients.
  • Performs initial psychiatric and addiction assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment plans for the patient.
  • Work closely with other healthcare providers, including therapists, nurses, and social workers to ensure holistic care.
  • Provides supervision to Advanced Practice Providers and other members of the team as appropriate.
  • Prescribe psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records patient progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatry and mental health treatment methods
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and ethical standards in psychiatric practice.
  • Fluent in electronic record keeping and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified/ Eligible MD or DO in Adult Psychiatry.
  • Active Medical License (MD/DO) in Arizona.
  • CPR/First Aid certified.
  • DEA License in Arizona
Education:
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) with specialization in Psychiatry
  • Successful completion of a certified GME program in the specialty of psychiatry
Experience:
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years professional experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Skills:
  • Proficient in electronic clinical documentation and scheduling systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred but not required.
