Nonprofit Bookkeeper

Our client, a respected nonprofit based in Brentwood, TN, is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join their close-knit team. This hands-on role supports donations, donor relations, accounts receivable, payroll, and more. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. This hybrid position offers one remote day per week after training (90 days) and reports directly to the Finance Director.

This is Temporary to Hire opportunity paying up to $30.00 per hour

Responsibilities of the Nonprofit Bookkeeper:

• Fully responsible for all Accounts Receivables: High volume of donor contributions (cash, check, PushPay), donor/contribution matching, and deposits
• Work high volume of data entry, analysis, and reconciliations
• Assist team with month end close and monthly reporting
• Review and Process payroll alongside HR. During payroll, which is 4 days out of each month (179 employees, some full-time, some part-time)
• Work with the payroll vendor to ensure everything is working correctly

Qualifications for the Nonprofit Bookkeeper:

• 5+ years of accounting experience / Bachelors or Associates in Accounting in a plus
• Experience in non-profit and Multiple locations/multiple entities is a major plus
• Payroll processing required / Kronos UKG experience is a major plus!
• Detail-oriented, Problem-solving skills, and great at proofing work to identify/correct mistakes
• Pivot easily and be a team player
• Great notetaker, learns processes quickly, and produces accurate work
