Job Description Summary

The Microbiology Solutions Architect will be responsible for driving sales revenue, primarily through automation capital sales, service, and software sales for the BD Kiestra microbiology automation line. Market development will target IDN, acute care hospitals, and reference labs via a consultative selling process involving a matrix team. The sales process is complex, with cycles ranging from 24-36 months and decision points involving senior-level executives.

Territory and Product Responsibility

Territory includes AZ, CA, NV, UT, CO, WY, MT, ID, OR & WA. Responsible for BD Kiestra Total Lab Automation (TLA) System.

Skills Required

• Proven success in team and solution selling
• Ability to navigate complex matrix organizations
• Experience in capital equipment sales to hospitals and labs
• Strong negotiation, financial modeling, and presentation skills
• Proficiency with CRM tools like Salesforce

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strategic account plans to meet sales targets
• Lead without direct authority, collaborating across teams
• Demonstrate product value with economic justification
• Manage decision-making processes for contracts
• Maintain customer satisfaction and realize revenue goals
• Communicate BD's strategic direction to customers
• Foster relationships with clinical lab and hospital leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field
• At least 5 years of sales experience in capital equipment
• Knowledge of hospital and lab sales processes
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to travel 50-75%
• Valid driver's license

Additional Information

BD emphasizes on-site collaboration, requiring a minimum of 4 days in-office per week, with flexible arrangements for remote roles. Compensation ranges from $130k-$255k annually, including base salary and incentives. Employment may require COVID-19 vaccination proof.
