We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Medical Storyboard Artist to join our growing animation team. The Medical Storyboard Artist will be responsible for translating complex medical and scientific concepts into clear, visually engaging storyboards and animatics. The storyboards will serve as blueprints for our 3D generalist team, primarily based in India. This artist will collaborate closely with content authors (who create the scripts and concepts) and a project coordinator (typically a content author or the animation manager) who facilitates communication with the India team. The ideal candidate has strong anatomical knowledge, excellent visual storytelling skills, and experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional production pipeline. Minimum Education Required Master's degree in Medical Illustration/Biovisualization Minimum Experience Required 2+ years of medical illustration/storyboarding experience Demonstrated experience in creating storyboards or illustrations for medical or scientific purposes Required Skills Ability to translate complex medical and scientific concepts into informative, concise, and accurate, educational animations Familiarity with animation pipelines and workflows Receptive to continuous feedback from peers and management Adapt to shifting priorities and be able to assist our on-site and off-site teams of medical and scientific illustrators as needed Exceptional communication skills and experience working with international or outsourced creative teams Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) Proficiency with ZBrush and Cinema 4D or Maya a plus Basic knowledge of rigging is a plus Job Duties Develop detailed storyboards, visual guides, and animatics to support the production of 3D medical animations, which will be passed on to a team of 3D generalists Ensure all visuals are medically and scientifically accurate Produce storyboards for a wide range of topics, including molecular biology, anatomy & physiology, surgical and nursing procedures, and laboratory techniques Maintain both scientific accuracy and high visual quality in all illustrations Collaborate with our medical and science teams to create novel ways of visualizing difficult concepts Participate in feedback cycles with international teams and incorporate revisions efficiently Have flexibility and skill to assist with the production and post-production process of the animation pipeline when required Adapt to shifting priorities and be able to assist our on-site medical and scientific illustrators as needed Proactively troubleshoot visual or conceptual issues with proposed scenes Benefits Compensation and Benefits: Competitive compensation based on experience with annual bonus opportunity Excellent work life balance Paid time off (based on sliding scale according to hire date and work hours) Generous paid holiday schedule that includes the entire week of Christmas off Comprehensive benefits package (medical, vision, dental, life, disability) 401(k) plan for retirement with 5% employer matching (eligibility after 90 days of employment) On-site group fitness classes & relaxed work environment At UWorld, we believe strength is derived from the talents, ideas, and experiences of a diverse workforce.
