Aerial Lineman The Aerial Lineman will install, repair, and maintain aerial telecommunications cables, ensuring safe operation of equipment and vehicles. This candidate will perform tasks such as digging, placing cables, and working with conduit systems. The job involves climbing ladders, working in bucket trucks, and performing aerial tasks like cable installation, pole transfers, and cable hanging up to 40 feet high. The Aerial Lineman is responsible for connecting, repairing, and maintaining outside cables, attaching hardware to poles or buildings, and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards. The candidate will read and interpret field prints, report progress to the Foreman, manage materials, and restore project areas as needed. Additionally, this candidate will maintain and repair machinery and tools to ensure efficient operations. Responsibilities: Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables. Safely operate equipment and vehicles. Perform construction tasks such as digging holes, placing cables, blow out pipes, and inner ducts in various conduit systems and open excavations. Ability to climb ladders, work in a bucket truck, and work aloft on poles up to 40 feet. Perform aerial tasks including new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing. Connect, rearrange, repair, and maintain outside cables to ensure good service. Attach/detach various hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles. Read, understand, and interpret field prints to determine work requirements and potential issues. Ensure all installation work meets quality standards and complies with OSHA safety procedures. Restore project areas to required specifications. Report project progress to the Foreman and manage materials and equipment to avoid work delays. Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools. Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities. Drive trucks carrying materials and equipment from warehouse to sites. If you are assigned a company vehicle, you will be responsible for stocking, cleaning, and reporting maintenance needs to Fleet Manager. Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in telephone outside plant construction or related fields, including the placement of telecommunications cables and fiber. Ability to safely climb poles with ladders and work from aerial buckets. Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques. Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over-lash, and strand construction. Specific vision abilities needed including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to safely and effectively operate various types of construction equipment and tools. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints. Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to driving and construction work. Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor tasks in various weather conditions and environments. Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. This job will include traveling 2-5 days a week. You will receive hotel accommodations and per diem for every night you spend the night. Overtime is required and you must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays dependent on the job and the company's needs. Able to perform night maintenance and emergency callouts. Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record within company standards required. Class A CDL is nice but not required. Questions about this opening?
