Job Title: Lab AnalystJob Description We are seeking Laboratory Analysts specializing in wildfire, structure fire, asbestos, and mold analysis. The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a life science such as biology, chemistry, or environmental science. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities + Conduct analyses related to wildfire, structure fire, asbestos, and mold. + Perform mold and spore analysis and identification with 1-2 years of mycology experience. + Utilize Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) with at least 1 year of experience preferred. + Engage in Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) with 1-2 years of required experience. + Demonstrate proficiency in microscopy techniques including PLM. + Maintain effective communication and organizational skills. + Manage assignments in a fast-paced setting and prioritize tasks efficiently. Essential Skills + 1-2 years of mycology experience (mold and spore analysis and identification). + 1 year of Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) experience preferred. + 1-2 years of Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) experience required. + Proficiency in microscopy techniques including PLM. + Good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a life science (biology, chemistry, environmental science, etc.) preferred. + Self-motivated, independent, and team-oriented. Work Environment The position is based in San Marcos, northern San Diego County. The role involves working in a fast-paced setting with the need to multitask and prioritize assignments. The work environment supports environmental investigations focused on wildfire structure fire, asbestos, and mold microbiology. The management team offers over 71 years of combined experience in particulate analysis and trace evidence examination. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
