Overview Location: Indianapolis, IN Remote Status: On-Site Job Id: 416 # of Openings: 1 Location: Onsite Indianapolis, IN Position Overview: The In-Person Interpreter is responsible for facilitating onsite communication for Limited English Proficient (LEP) community and the practitioners that serve them in a variety of settings. This contract position is flexible and an opportunity to expand your interpreting business with access to many sessions per day. Responsibilities Provide effective onsite interpreting sessions in a professional manner. Always exhibit professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality and preparedness for sessions. Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing situations. Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural requirements specific to interpreting context. Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment. Respect for and understanding of our LEP clients, culture, dialect, beliefs, and preferences. Strong aptitude and passion for customer service and interpreting. Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions. Render exact and correct concepts and meanings according to interpreter protocol. Qualifications Fluent and have strong verbal communication skills in both the source and target language (Target language to English and vice-a-versa). Ability to read and write in the requested languages. Excellent listening and retention skills to maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation. Degree or certifications in interpreting practices. Successful completion of Bridging The Gap Medical Interpreting Testing or accredited Medical Interpreting Training course (i.e.: ALTA, MITS, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training) National Medical Interpreter Certification by CCHI or NBCMI (highly preferred) Extensive knowledge of code of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI and NCIHC). #J-18808-Ljbffr Universal Language Service, Inc
