Job Description

Director of Risk Management
 
We are exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing Atlanta-based company seeking a seasoned Risk Management professional with deep experience in the construction industry to lead risk strategies for large-scale projects. This role focuses on insurance programs, contract review, claims management, and collaboration across legal, finance, and operations teams. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage comprehensive risk and insurance programs for construction projects
  • Review contracts for insurance and bonding requirements
  • Oversee claims management (general liability, auto, builders risk)
  • Coordinate with brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor industry trends and ensure compliance with best practices
  • Travel as needed to sites (25% - 35%)
Must-Haves:
  • Proven Risk Management experience
  • Strong Construction Industry background
  • Expertise in insurance, surety, and risk transfer strategies
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Risk Management, Finance, or Business
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Familiarity with Procore, NetSuite, and Excel
  • Subcontractor Default Insurance experience
  • MBA or advanced degree

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
