Overview: Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) is a crisis mental health service program for youth and adults who are experiencing a psychiatric emergency. MCR agencies provide intensive mental health services for eligible individuals who may need hospitalization or community based mental health care.

Basic Function: Under the direct supervision of the Mobile Crisis Response Supervisor, provides MCR coordination and clinical supervision to direct service staff providing crisis services within both a community and clinic setting to children, adolescents, families or adults. Clinical direct services are provided as needed in compliance with agency productivity standards.

Reports to: MCR Supervisor

Supervises: Mobile Crisis Worker - Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Mental Health Professional (MHP)

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Has Initial interactions with MCOs and ensures all MCOs receive IMCATs in timely manner.
  • Manages community grievances.
  • Act as 1st response to DCFS SASS, CARES, and hospital concerns.
  • Ensures IM-CATs are entered into CRS within 5days.
  • Ensure Crisis worker notes are completed within 5 days or completed at the time of time sheet submittal.
  • Review CW timesheets and make sure there is a note and packet for each call logged for pay.

    Assures that all services are provided in accordance with standards of informed consent, maintenance of client rights, standards of confidentiality and are consistent with Agency procedures, licensing standards, and standards of professional practice.

  • Assures that all treatment services are compliant with local, state and federal medical regulations.

  • Performs other duties commensurate with the responsibilities outlined herein.
  • Participates in agency in-service trainings as well as self and supervisor directed advanced skill-trainings. Maintains and adheres to current rules and regulations pertaining to services delivered by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Department of Children & Family Services, Illinois Healthcare & Family Services, including the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (ANCRA), and the Office of the Inspector General.
  • Implementation of diagnostic formulations and criteria using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) and applicable pathways.
  • Documents service provision consistent with the treatment plan and assures that all identified services are provided in accordance with Agency/Program, and current administrative codes for the delivery of community mental health treatment services. Maintains client confidentiality and adheres to guidelines defined by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Provide Staff supervision/feedback.
  • Participate in weekly check in with MCR Supervisor.
  • Participates in Monthly supervision with SR. Clinical Director or VP of BHCS, or as needed.
  • Consults with MCR Supervisor and Clinical Director regarding staff disciplinary or corrective action concerns.
  • Assists with coordination of monthly hospital meetings with MCR staff.
  • Conducts crisis and assessment training for new hires.
  • Maintains knowledge of current STATE of IL MCR practices and procedures.
  • Assist with developing new Agency procedures in accordance with state practices, and contract guidelines.
  • Make sure gaps in the schedule are covered (Request back up as needed).
  • Onsite backup to MCR Supervisor and other Clinical Team leads during absences and coordinated time off.
  • Attends required State SASS meetings
  • Monitor afterhours intake coordinators for timely opening of cases and accuracy of data entry
  • Knowledge of intake tasks including how to open cases and complete client enrollment into the electronic health record (HER), verify eligibility utilizing the Medi system, correct errors pertaining to client enrollment that impact billing of services
  • Act as initial backup for afterhours intake and dispatch crisis calls as needed-(on-call)
  • Act as backup when crisis call volume is high and the crisis worker cannot meet the 90-minute timeframe to complete an assessment. Provides pre-admission psychiatric hospital screening, crisis intervention, facilitates hospitalization, monitors psychiatrically hospitalized children/adults, and provides discharge, linkage, and aftercare recommendations.
  • Verify afterhours CRS entries are completed in a timely manner
  • Field MCR complaints and problem solve through crisis concerns with the crisis worker
  • Effectively communicate with other members of the crisis team and debrief daytime supervisor of ongoing concerns
  • Ability to effectively multitask

  • Provides and documents clinical supervision in accordance with agency performance standards.
  • Oversees the implementation of the client’s treatment plan and service delivery.
  • Functions as backup MCR worker if needed during daytime regular business hours as needed.
  • Make sure notes are in Evolv for every call.

Requirement:

This position calls for a minimum of a master’s degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation, counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or a related field.

Designation of Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)

This position requires the use of a personal auto, valid driver’s license and motor vehicle report acceptable to the agency’s broker and verification of insurance. This position also calls for an individual who has been cleared by the State of Illinois based upon a prior history of child abuse/neglect. In addition, the individual must clear a personal background review, fingerprinting, and criminal checks.

Environmental Conditions: Staff are expected to have the ability to work remotely from home if necessary, and with Supervisory approval. Safety Protocols while at the office and while providing services within the community are to be strictly adhered.
