Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to operate various types of cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment at construction or industrial sites. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of crane operations, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials according to project requirements.
Perform daily safety and operational inspections on crane equipment.
Ensure safe lifting practices and compliance with site safety regulations.
Signal or communicate with riggers and other team members to ensure safe movements.
Maintain accurate records of crane operations and log maintenance checks.
Load and unload equipment and materials using appropriate attachments or rigging.
Monitor crane operations for mechanical issues and report any malfunctions.
Follow site plans, blueprints, or instructions from supervisors for lifting tasks.
Assist with site setup and equipment mobilization as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid crane operator certification/license.
Strong knowledge of crane load charts, rigging, and lifting procedures.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA or local safety standards.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in construction.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
Familiarity with hydraulic and mechanical crane systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team setting.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, climb, or walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions.
